Empathetic mental health therapy for bettering your relationships
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
Audre Lorde
Let me introduce myself.
My Approach
“I don't think we heal without relationships and I believe that a large part of what keeps us from healing is systemic.”
-Prentis Hemphill
We all have relationships with ourselves, the world, and people around us. I’m curious about these relationships. Do you notice how you talk to yourself in your head, or how you see yourself? What are your habits when you are stressed versus when you are grounded? How do you interact with your body? What does your relationship with work look like? Who do you spend time with? My goal is to help you explore these questions to deepen your connections mentally, physically, and even spiritually. Then, we'll figure out what and how to prioritize your needs in hopes that you feel better.
I use a mix of different approaches to help such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Therapy. These approaches help me to understand your relationship with your personal story, ways of thinking, and feelings so that I can help you find security and connection to your body and mind.
I’m passionate about engaging with BIPOC professionals and students in helping them remain grounded and find joy while leading in their respective fields. It is incredibly rewarding to me to assist women and queer folx in finding a deeper meaning and understanding regarding their identities and how they may challenge societal norms. Above all, it is essential to me that everyone I work with feels a strong sense of personal value, security, and belonging as they learn to establish a practice of grace.
