Somatic Therapy to Increase Connection

You’ve learned how to perform, push, and hold everything together.

But inside, you may feel disconnected — from yourself, your body, or your partner.

You’re tired of functioning at a high level while feeling emotionally overwhelmed, shut down, or stuck in the same patterns.

Whether you’re navigating this individually or in your relationship, therapy can help you shift from performance to presence — and from disconnection to deeper connection.

Let me introduce myself.

My Approach

Barbara Reynolds

We all have relationships—with ourselves, with our bodies, with the world, and with the people in our lives. I’m deeply curious about these relationships. How do you speak to yourself in your mind? What parts of you tend to step forward when you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or trying to keep it together? What does your body feel like when you’re grounded versus when you’re bracing for impact? How do you relate to work, to rest, and to pleasure? Who do you allow close to you?

Together, we will explore these questions through the lens of your internal world—your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and the protective “parts” that have helped you survive. My role is to help you build connection with these parts of yourself while also supporting you in coming home to your body. Over time, this creates more clarity, compassion, and choice in how you move through the world.

I offer somatic and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy for individuals and couples who want to understand their patterns, regulate their nervous system, and build more connected relationships. These approaches help us understand how your story, nervous system, and internal parts are shaped. With this understanding, we can begin to prioritize what you truly need, rather than what your stress or survival patterns demand.

I am especially passionate about supporting BIPOC professionals and students in staying grounded, joyful, and embodied while leading in their fields. It is deeply meaningful to walk alongside women and queer folx as they make sense of identity, navigate societal pressures, and challenge societal norms. Above all, it matters to me that everyone I work with feels valued, secure, and accepted as they learn to meet themselves with grace.

    • Gentle body-based practices for slowing down and centering

Workshops blend education, guided somatic exercises, reflection, and optional discussion, allowing participants to both understand the concepts and directly experience the tools.
